    < Back Previous Next Forms Committee Chair ​ Wendy Cummins forms@herndonband.org Board The Forms Committee Chair is responsible for assisting the Band Director in assembling, distributing and collecting required band forms and maintaining the CHARMS band database. Should be comfortable working with a spreadsheet and performing data entry. The activities for this position occur primarily in the spring, to a much lesser extent in the fall and minimally throughout the year. Assembles Band Packets for all students taking band the next calendar year (including rising ninth graders). Enters student information into the CHARMS band database. Files returned forms. Assists with the collection of required forms that are not turned in by deadlines or are incomplete. Running periodic reports for use by band board/committee chairs and for auditing database. Assist in the development of data entry guidelines for the CHARMS band database. Previous Next

  • Financial Review Committee | Herndon High School Band

    < Back Previous Next Financial Review Committee ​ Lynne DeRoche, Angela McCafferty, Steven Page treasurer@herndonband.org Subcommittee The financial books and records shall be submitted for review on an annual basis after the year-end financial statements have been prepared. This review shall be conducted by the Finance Review Committee, appointed by the HHSBPA Board, and shall be comprised of three (3) individuals who are not authorized to sign checks for the HHSBPA during the period being reviewed. At least one of the members shall be a voting member of the HHSBPA. The review shall be completed within ninety (90) days of the end of the fiscal year. Previous Next

  • Carlee Craze | Herndon High School Band

    < Back Carlee Craze Alumni Ms. Craze is a 2015 alumni of Herndon Band, named captain for 2 years and traveling to Disney and Hawaii. She has continued working with the Herndon Band since graduating, including as an instructor on the Paris trip. After graduating, Ms. Craze performed with the East Carolina University Color Guard competing in both AIA and WGI circuits. She strives to make all students feel included and give them experiences to grow outside of a classroom environment. Ms. Craze currently works full time as an Interior Designer. Previous Next

Works with all members of the board to coordinate timely updates to the website content for band events and activities. Responsible for: Website design: Maintaining the website's design, keeping it up-to-date, and developing new features Website performance: Monitoring website traffic, user behavior, and engagement, and generating reports to analyze and improve performance Website security: Implementing security measures and ensuring the website is secure Website functionality: Testing websites across different platforms, browsers, operating systems, and devices to ensure functionality and efficiency Web server maintenance: Configuring and managing web servers, and monitoring them to ensure they are running optimally Search engine optimization (SEO): Reviewing SEO to enhance website visibility User support: Interacting with users to address technical issues, answer queries, and provide assistance with website usage Content management: Updating website content regularly to keep it looking fresh Previous Next

The Vice President will serve as Chairperson of Fundraising Activities and, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, will determine adequate fundraising programs to satisfy fiscal needs. The Vice President will serve as an ex-officio member of and supervise those committees, in coordination with the Chairs of such committees, involved in fundraising activities for the Band program.     < Back Previous Next Chaperone Chair Shadow Needed Wendy Cummins chaperone@herndonband.org Board Coordinates chaperone volunteers for all marching band trips and spring trip. Works with Band Director to choose trip activities and deal with special student circumstances. Works closely with Transportation Coordinator to ensure that buses and trucks are available for each trip. Workload shared with Transportation Coordinator. Attends all trips, unless their own child is not performing. Attends all HHSBPA Board Meetings (usually held 1st Monday of each month) Must be comfortable with spreadsheet, powerpoint and word applications.   • Chris Cunningham | Herndon High School Band

    < Back Chris Cunningham Jazz Band, Brass Tech Mr. Cunningham is a full time music teacher at Herndon High School. He began working with The Pride while teaching at several feeder elementary schools, and soon became a full time band director at Herndon HS. He created the guitar program here at Herndon, and now teaches five classes of guitar full time.   • Jazz Band | Herndon High School Band

    < Back Jazz Band The Jazz Band is a small ensemble designed to promote the study of jazz literature, emphasizing improvisation and styles of the jazz idiom. Students meet after school once marching season has ended and receive a half credit for course participation. Admission to the group requires participation in a school based concert ensemble (such as Wind Ensemble) and audition. Auditions occur in May or June for the preceding school year and can be scheduled with Mrs. Jacoby at Director@HerndonBand.org . The instrumentation of the ensemble varies each year, but generally reflects a stand Big Band orchestration. Previous Next
